Losses
The Bobcats had six athletes graduate: Emily Walsh, Maggie Nedoma, Dahlias Bouyer, Ashton Webb, Ila Angermeier and Virginia Natale. Although all six graduates provided a valuable presence to the team, Maggie Nedoma’s shoes will be the biggest to fill.
In 2021, Nedoma made first team All-Mid-American Conference and had the second most kills on the team. Nedoma played for the Bobcats for three years and made first team All-MAC twice.
In addition to the graduating seniors, Ohio will be without former Assistant Coach Rodnei Santos. Santos was with the Bobcats for five seasons.
Additions
Ohio will have a few newcomers for the upcoming season on the roster and the coaching staff. The Bobcats recruited setter Chariti Winzeler and middle hitter Leah Rogers for the upcoming season. The Bobcats also brought in a transfer, fifth-year senior Kristy Frank.
Frank played at a couple of colleges in her first four years, including Wiley College and most recently Utah State. At Utah State, Frank made the All-Mountain West team in 2021 and finished with the third-most kills on the team. Frank will immediately be able to make a difference for the Bobcats on the outside hitter position.
Coaching-wise, the Bobcats added two assistant coaches to the staff, Kenzie Crawford and Andrew Kroger.
Kroger has a plethora of coaching experience at the Division I level, including stops at La Salle from 2014-2021, when La Salle dropped its volleyball program. Kroger was the interim head coach at North Alabama for the 2021 season.
Crawford played at Creighton in college and coached as a graduate assistant at Nebraska-Kearney for two years. Then, Crawford got her first opportunity as an assistant at Army West Point. Crawford helped coach Army to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Patriot League.
