Ohio Athletes’ favorite restaurants in Athens

By The Post Sports

Over the course of the semester, The Post Sports has interviewed many student athletes and has asked some of them their favorite place to eat in Athens and why.

Here are their answers:

Sam Wiglusz, Wide Receiver, Football

Gigi’s - Wiglusz heard that Gigi’s is one of Joe Burrow’s favorite breakfast places, so he had to give it a try. He was happy to find out that the restaurant is pretty good.

Kai Caesar, Defensive Tackle, Football

Tavolino - Pasta is one of Caesar’s favorite meals, and he loves the $4 to-go pasta meals that Tavolino has. It is also convenient and close to his house.

Bryce Stai, Defensive End, Football

The Pub - Stai thinks the meals are inexpensive and the burgers are “just delicious.” He looks forward to getting a bacon cheeseburger there from time to time.

Mijntje Ligtenberg, Midfielder, Field Hockey

Ginger - Ligtenberg hasn’t gotten to eat at a lot of Athens restaurants yet, but she loves Ginger Asian Kitchen.

Andrew Sacca, Forward, Hockey

The Pigskin - according to Sacca, they just have the best menu.

Andrew Wells, Forward, Hockey

Larry's Dawg House - Wells can’t resist Dollar Dog Night at Larry’s on Wednesdays.

Zach Curry, Forward, Hockey

Ciro - Curry thinks Ciro is a nice little upscale restaurant and that they have really good pasta deals.

Sam Turner, Defenseman, Hockey

Shade - It’s Turner’s favorite place to go because they have a little bit of everything. The hockey team tries to go before every game.
